While flipping through fashion articles on the net, I came across these extraordinary, very sexy, playfully designed rock and roll shoes whom Gwyneth Paltrow was seen wearing while promoting her new movie “The Iron Man”. My she has done a serious wardrobe change for this movie. And yeah, there’s a reason why only those yummy shoes are cropped…Her dress wanted to go back to Grandma’s attic.

Isn’t this a lovely change! the beachwear of 2008 is not going barefoot this year nu-uh. Yes we all know about the classic Havaianas that just a few years ago smashed the market and was on everyones feet (including mine.) This year, they have big, no make that huge competition. None other than the gorgeous Giselle Bundchen has launched a series of flipflops and it is said to be the IT-sandals for every fashionista this summer of 2008.

Personally, I think they’re right.

Subtle and elegant, yet playful youth. I think that would describe the style of spirited British actress Emma Watson (a.k.a Hermione Granger) and yeah, I think those pictures speak for itself. Look and learn how to create personality and uniqueness with garments. I love her outfit in Instyle magazine where she wears a strict knee-length skirt with boldness of a leather jacket. Perfect blend! When creating a ready to wear outfit, have a strict guideline not to use more that three different colors. Otherwise it looks to chaotic and unstable. Sometimes its nice to accent an outfit with accessories, but just make sure your not wearing 5 different colors, aand accenting with a complete different shade.

Oh and just in case you haven’t heard: The newly turned 18 actress Emma Watson received access to her dazzling $20 million fortune as a birthday gift from her parents, according to the magazine Female first. It is also said that she is to attend a “millionaire school” to learn how to handle her ever expanding fortune.

I want to enroll in that school too.

This stylish girl really knows how to dress. She should be a personal stylist for sorry ass people like Heidi Montage. Her outfit is nothing less of a WOW-factor. rolled-up chinos, simple tee, short jacket with big cute buttons, whose color blends perfectly well with her shoes. And the scarf and those sunglasses in style of Fergilicious Stacy Furgeson are great for cutting the ready-to-wear outfit from being monotonous.

Also note that hair in knots are very very very big this year. Place your knot as high as possible and finish off like this girl here, accessories near your face!

Counter Rumour

A rumor spread the word that several stores dropped Victoria Beckhams denim line dVb, including Kitson and Fred Segal. According to a press release from dVb’s main office this is anything but true. Kitson called this rumour “ridiculous” and are very proud to be selling dVb’s products.

So there you have it folks. You can still shop Victoria Beckhams jeans in any Kitson store, if you ever had a thought of purchasing a pair that is…

Kate Moss for Agent Provocateur…Again

Well isn’t this a big surprise. First the legendary Kate Moss gets caught sniffing cocaine in a video that circulated the world, which led to the drop of many big time shit companies such as H&M and Agent Provocateur. Turns out this crash video made her richer than ever because last year she had more campaigns than any other, not only did she land big ads like Chanel and Burberry, Agent Provocateur has once again re-assigned a deal with Kate Moss.

This just proves the truth. No publicity is bad publicity.

Since it’s friday today, and just incase these news has somehow managed to slip your ears, here are some of the latest recaps.

1. Sex and the city, the movie premiers May 30, 2008
2. H&M to launch their fall collection with guest designer Rei Kawakubo, founder and head designer of Comme de Garcons this November 2008. The collection launches at the opening of H&M’s second store in Tokyo followed by the rest of the world a few days later. The collection consists of women’s, men’s as well as a set of children’s clothing. Accessories and an exclusive unisex perfume are also included. [ To read more about Rei Kawakubo, click here ]
3. Mel B of Spice girl launches her own clothing line called Catty Coutoure. Ew.
4. Re-launch of the ultimate fashion blog site Vanitymirror occurred this week. Hehe.

At a party night like this, and the sun still heating long summer nights, I’ll leave you guys with another ready-to-wear outfit.

• Why not loose those heels for a change and go with gladiator sandals to a very long, perhaps tube dress in shades of mocha.
• Place the dot over i and accessorize with a big eye-catching necklace and a maybe pair of bracelets in outgoing colors.
• Go soft on make-up but use lots of mascara and use a highlighter on cheekbones as well as under eyebrows.
• Powder yourself fresh with bronzing powder in big movements with a large brush around cheekbones, forehead, nose, chin, collar bone and shoulders.
• Style hair in steady curls and break them by turning head upside down while running fingers through your hair. Finish with a shining hairspray and tie your hair in a very loose knot very high on your head, high enough for your some of your locks to fall.
• don’t forget to bring your leather jacket or a large scarf to sweep around your shoulders when the temperature drops.

Scent of L.A.M.B

None other than the cool blond Gwen Stefani is launching a collection of fragrances in collaboration with Coty this autumn. These five fragrances are inspired by Gwen Stefani herself as well as her known Harajuku dancers; Love, Angel, Music and Baby. Each bottle is conformed after their different personalities.

I wonder how the personality of a Japanese Harajuku smells like. I forecast the scents will smell refreshing, playful, and perhaps a bit rebellious, probably even addictive . I just hope it doesn’t smell anything like Paris Hilton’s “Heiress”. Walking around and smelling like burned sugar and molded strawberries is just not my thing.

Songbird and style icon Rihanna is usually seen with playfully colored outfits, which from a fashionable point of view makes a bold and strong statement and it seems to fit her personality as well as image. And I dont think anyone has missed her everchanging hairstyle. It’s exactly like they say folks;

No Guts no Glory. Remember that.

according to this news-article on Yahoo News a few days ago, a poll claims that people who buy three pair of sneakers or more a year are 60% more likely to be of leadership type than other people. Arvonio told Reuters and i quote:

“It is often said you can tell a lot about a person by the shoes they wear, and now we have some hard data to back that up,”
